Is Botox painful?

Botox injections are not usually described as painful because the needle is so fine. A numbing agent can be applied to help reduce discomfort.

Will my face look unnatural after Botox?

If Botox is applied expertly, it’s injected precisely and into the muscles that are actively causing the wrinkles. In the hands of an experienced specialist, you will look natural, not look frozen or stiff.

How is Botox different from dermal fillers?

Botox makes the muscles relax in order to smooth lines and wrinkles. Dermal fillers provide a full, supple, smooth appearance and contour and sculpt your features. Dermal fillers help improve the appearance of wrinkles by plumping sagging skin, but they do not relax wrinkles the way Botox does.

Where on the face can Botox be used?

  • Forehead Lines
  • Crow’s Feet
  • Between the Eyebrows
  • Above the Eyebrows
  • Wrinkles Around the Nose, Chin, and Corners of the Mouth

What is the right age to start Botox treatments?

There is no “right age.” When to start using Botox is a personal choice, but most patients start in their thirties. Some people begin in their mid-twenties and use Botox as a preventive treatment to stop wrinkles before they start.

How can I make my Botox treatment last longer?

As instructed, you can do gentle exercises to help the Botox spread evenly in the treatment area. Do not massage the area right after your treatment. Stay hydrated and care for your skin as you usually would by staying out of the sun, moisturizing your skin, and taking a regular zinc supplement.

How long does a Botox treatment take?

Botox typically takes less than 20 minutes to perform- this is why many people call Botox a “lunchtime procedure.”

What are the possible risks of cosmetic Botox?

Other than possible swelling or redness at the injection site, Botox side effects are not common. Some side effects include:

  • Bruising
  • Headache or Flu-like Symptoms
  • Eye Dryness or Excessive Tearing
  • Temporary Facial Weakness or Drooping
  • Nausea
